Philosophy

Travel and music have been the two fundamental obsessions in my life. Travel at first was something ingrained in me from an early age, I’m not sure if it was down to the partially nomadic lifestyle my parents have enjoyed from time to time or simply down to the niggling curiosity to know what lies around the next bend. Nevertheless travel is something that continues to excite, scare and inspire me nearly everyday.

Music on the other hand exploded into my life with the addictiveness of a drug. Once I was hooked I couldn’t leach myself away. I began saving all of my monthly allowance so that I could buy the latest and the oldest of records. Over time as I heard new music styles I branched out from the Rock n’ Roll roots of most young teenagers and began listening to the likes of Miles Davis, John Martyn, Aphex Twin and Chopin, I discovered to my relief that there was no discrimination in music. Good music is good music irrespective of genre, time or place.

If nothing more than a diary of my global ramblings and aural musings, I hope that whoever reads this might come away with a song or an artist they have not yet heard, and/or the inspiration to vicariously explore wherever it is that takes a hold of their imagination.

Enjoy.
